Intro
Currently, the global manufacturing industry is undergoing profound changes. Only by strengthening cooperation and learning from each other can all nations jointly seize the opportunities arising from a new round of technological and industrial revolution, enhance the technological innovation capabilities of the manufacturing industry, and promote the quality, efficiency and impetus revolutions in the manufacturing industry. In his congratulatory letter to the 2019 World Manufacturing Forum (WMF), General Secretary Xi Jinping said: "China attaches great importance to the growth of the manufacturing sector, adheres to an innovation-driven development strategy, and sees promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing sector as an important part of developing a modern economic system." 

In order to put the innovation-driven development strategy into action, China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange (CISTE) has planned to hold the "Special Roadshow of the Cutting-Edge Equipment of German Hidden Champions" (Online Matchmaking Event) and the Launch Ceremony of International Technology Exchange Coalition (ITEC) on April 14, 2020 in accordance with the decisions and arrangements made by CAST Leading Party Members' Group and CAST Secretariat to bring into full play the advantages of S&T organizations and to promote the in-depth integration of science, technology and economy, in an effort to promote the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry, to shift from old impetus to the new one, to enhance the internationalization level of China's manufacturing industry, and to transform China from a manufacturer of quantity into a manufacturer of quality. This initiative is also purposed to introduce cutting-edge German equipment and technologies to Chinese companies, to build a platform for cooperation, matchmaking and exchanges between Chinese and German companies, to further promote the application and commercialization of advanced research results, and to facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation and joint growth.
