Since the outbreak of COVID-19, CAST consultants to the United Nations have exerted their best efforts to actively contribute to the prevention and control of the epidemic. CAST UN Consultative Committee on Life Sciences and Human Health (CCLH) and CAST UN Consultative Committee on Information Technology (CCIT) jointly established the "COVID-19 Knowledge and Data Information System" in an effort to apply digital technologies and services such as big data and artificial intelligence to fight the epidemic.
"COVID-19 Knowledge and Data Information System" brings together documents, scientific literature and scientific data from the World Health Organization (WHO), with certain English documents having been translated into Chinese. In the meantime, the headway made in epidemic prevention and control is proactively shared with the United Nations system and international S&T organizations to promote borderless, non-discriminatory and barrier-free academic exchanges.
To help the public better understand the relevant information, these documents have been released in public online, with the number of users and page views soaring. As the UN Consultative Office of CAST, CISTE is working with Baidu to transform these scientific data and literature into high-quality popular science resources, so that they can be seen by more people.
